Nishmat's goal of community involvement has led to the creation of wonderful yearly events that students, staff and the men, women & children of the neighborhood participate in, and look forward to.
On the first night of Channuka, Nishmat joins the residents of Pat for a community candle-lighting ceremony, singing, dancing and sufganiot (doughnuts).
Nishmat's Purim Carnival is a highlight of the year for local children. Students spend weeks preparing games, activities, and prizes to provide the young participants with an exciting and memorable experience.
Nishmat students and faculty take to the streets of Jerusalem, waving flags, dancing and celebrating. Neighborhood residents join in or watch from their open windows, celebrating the miracle of the State of Israel.
Nishmat Students have the opportunity to visit local families for Shabbat meals, and through them experience and learn about different cultures.
Nishmat hosts a twice-yearly blood drive in conjunction with Magen David Adom.
Neighborhood residents are invited to join with Nishmat students for all Special Events at Nishmat; Chanukah party, Tu Bishvat Seder, Women's Megillah Reading and Purim party, Shabbat Zionut & Jerusalem Day thanksgiving dinner.
