The Alisa Flatow Overseas Students Program is a program for English speaking women, in or after college, who are looking for challenging, text based Torah study in Jerusalem. Nishmat is commited to active, engaging Torah study for women. As a student, you develop skills, probe classic Jewish texts and study with a faculty of exceptional scholars.

A spirit of open inquiry permeates classes at Nishmat where the curriculum includes courses in Tanach (Bible), Halacha (Jewish Law), Talmud, Ethics and Jewish Philosophy. This variety enables each student to develop a wide range of learning skills, to engage the issues of Jewish observance and to deepen her understanding of what it means to be a Jew.

Torah learning takes place at Nishmat in a warm and caring environment. The personal development and spiritual growth of each student is a priority for teachers. Nishmat's supportive environment encourages students to make decision and face challenges in an atmosphere of genuing concern and consideration for the individual. In addition, teachers and their families invite you to share Shabbatot and holidays in their homes.
