The Alisa Flatow Summer Program 2010 - 5770Dates: June 30 - July 21 2010
Topic: Health & HalachaThis summer we will examine the topic of Health and Halacha from a variety of angles. Each day will begin with a session regarding halachik responsa to health/medical issues. A guest speaker from the Halachic Organ Donor Society will outline the halachik and medical issues involved in this process. We will also delve into workshops such as Pilates and meditation. Summer program activities include Shabbat together in the Golan Heights, plenty of special activities during the week like tiyulim (tours) every week including a night hike in the Judean Desert, dinner at teachers' homes, special speakers and social events. Click here for more information ShabbatFor our first Shabbat together, we will have a unique opportunity to get to know our teachers out of class by visiting them in their homes. Each meal will be spent at a different teacher's home where we will taste of their Torah as well as their food! The following Shabbat is left open for you to explore on your own and to visit friends and families. We can also help find places for people to go for Shabbat for those who need. For the final Shabbat of the program, we will travel out of Jerusalem. We begin the weekend with a tiyul, and then spend Shabbat in a beautiful pastoral location. The selected area is particularly beautiful in the summer, and the Shabbat is a wonderful way to see other parts of Israel. Tiyulim
