Alumnae Gather for Winter-Break Reunion

As the Fast of Asara b’Tevet* came to a close, some 20 Shana Ba'Aretz (post-high school program) alumnae from Israel and abroad gathered on Nishmat’s Dr. Monique C. Katz Campus in Jerusalem for their first annual December reunion. An inspirational class taught by Shana Ba'Aretz Director, Rabbi Yehoshua Weisberg, was followed by a delicious break-fast, socializing and mishmar (informal Torah study) with Nishmat's new Alumnae Relations Coordinator, Avigayil Unterberg. The evening was the perfect start to Nishmat’s new initiatives for English-speaking alumnae in Israel and abroad. To plan an alumnae event in your area, contact Avigayil:[email protected].

* This fast, observed on the 10th of the Hebrew month of Tevet, mourns the onset of the Babylonian siege of Jerusalem, which led to the destruction of the first Temple.
